REBATES AND GRANTS

Grants and rebates are out there. We'll help you navigate them.

Rebate and grant programs for heat pumps are real, and in BC they can be substantial. They're also moving targets: rebates change fast, programs open and close and change their rules, and occasionally everyone gets about three days' notice on the way out.

This page explains how that landscape works and how we help you navigate it. When you're ready to talk specifics, that happens at your free in-home consult, where we measure your home, get clear on your goals (what comfort means to you), and the funding you may qualify for.

What the landcape generally looks like

The specifics move, but the shape of the support stays fairly steady. Support for switching to a heat pump has typically come from a few directions at once: provincial programs, utility programs, income-qualified streams that offer deeper support, and financing options at the federal level.

Some can be combined, most come with eligibility rules about your home and your current heating system, and nearly all of them care about who does the installation and how the paperwork is sequenced.

Sequencing matters more than people expect

Some programs require registration or approval before any work begins or equipment is purchased, and getting that order wrong can cost you the entire rebate. This is one of the better reasons to talk to us early rather than after you've bought something.

Why we don't print the numbers

Plenty of websites list rebate amounts, and plenty of those pages are out of date.

We'd rather be the company that never quotes you yesterday's rules.

How rebates enter the conversation

Rebates are part of the conversation at your in-home consultation. While we're looking at your home and your options, we'll let you know if you might qualify for a rebate and talk through what that could mean for your project, openly and in plain language. We're a CleanBC registered contractor, so we can deliver work under provincial clean-energy programs. You won't have to reverse-engineer eligibility rules from a government website at ten at night.

One thing we'll never do is use a rebate as the reason to buy. A heat pump should make sense for your home and your comfort first, with the rebate as a welcome bonus rather than the argument. If a program changed tomorrow, good advice should still be good advice.

Questions we hear about rebates & grants

How much can I actually get?

It depens on your home, your current heating system, your household situation, and what's open the week you apply. What we can promise is an open conversation about what you may qualify for, with the current answer rather than last season's.

When should I look into rebates, before or after getting a quote?

Before you buy anything, ideally at the consultation stage. Some programs require approval before work begins or equipment is purchased, and that sequencing is unforgiving.

Do rebates apply to geothermal too?

Ground source systems have historically qualified for clean-energy programs, and we'll confirm what applies to your project as part of the geothermal design conversation.
