1. A real consultation, not a sales call
Your first visit is with a dedicated designer, not a technician squeezing a pitch into a service call. We scan your home to capture an actual heat load measurement, talk through what you want your home to do, and you walk away with a real number for your house. Not a ballpark. A measurement.
2. A design built from your home's data
Your proposal is engineered to your home's measured heat load and your priorities — with the full price and any risk items identified up front. Then we talk it through: does this fit your budget? What would you change? The proposal is a starting point for a conversation, not a take-it-or-leave-it document.
3. A careful installation
Drop cloths down, shoe covers on, your home protected the entire time. We handle safe removal and disposal of the old equipment, keep temporary heat running if we're replacing your primary system, and fabricate ductwork in our own sheet metal shop — so your install isn't stuck waiting on a supplier.
Realistic timelines
Ductless — 1–5 days for smaller homes, 3–10 days for larger ones.
Ducted — 2–6 days for smaller homes, 1–3 weeks for larger or renovation projects.
We'll give you your timeline before we start.
4. Commissioning and air balancing
This is one of the most commonly skipped steps in the industry — and one of the biggest reasons new systems underperform. We test every operating mode, verify refrigerant levels and electrical connections, confirm noise levels, and balance airflow so every room gets its share. It's not an upgrade. It's the standard.

6. Support that doesn't disappear
Every installation includes a 1-year labour warranty and a maintenance visit at the six-month mark. You'll get a handoff document that spells out exactly what's covered, who to call, and what happens when you do. And when the warranty year ends, the Comfort Club keeps the same eyes on your system for the long run.

If your gas furnace or boiler is near the end of its life, you're standing at a fork in the road: replace it with the same thing, or switch to a system that heats in January and cools in July.
We hold gas and boiler tickets alongside our refrigeration licence, so this isn't a one-sided pitch, we can service, repair, or replace what you have. Sometimes a repair is honestly the right answer, and we'll tell you so. But if you're replacing equipment anyway, a heat pump is the conversation worth having before you spend the money.

One crew, full scope.
We're licensed across refrigeration, gas, boilers, and refrigerant-connected electrical — so your project isn't a parade of subcontractors.
In-house sheet metal fabrication.
Custom ductwork made in our own shop means better fits and no supplier delays.
Air balancing included.
The step most installs skip is our standard finish.
CleanBC registered contractor.
Qualified to deliver work under provincial clean-energy programs.
Cost certainty before work begins.
Full pricing and risk items identified up front. No fine print, no "oh by the way" charges.
Porcupine did an excellent job on retrofitting AC in my house- they corrected all outstanding issues promptly. All staff were courteous and knowledgeable. They even reimbursed me for an overcharge I was unaware of.

These guys are amazing. The owner/HVAC master Simon really knows his stuff. If you need some comprehensive help with your heat pump, or you want a reliable/trustworthy company for an install, you can't go wrong with Porcupine.

Provincial and federal rebate programs can meaningfully change the math on a heat pump — but the programs, amounts, and eligibility rules shift more often than anyone would like. As a CleanBC registered contractor, we stay current so you don't have to. During your consult, we'll flag exactly what your project qualifies for.

Every system is custom-designed and custom-quoted from your home's measured heat load, so there's no honest one-size price. What we can promise: you'll have the complete price, with any risk items identified, before any work begins.
Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps are built for exactly our conditions, and because we size your system from a real heat load measurement rather than a guess, it's designed to carry your home through January, not just survive it.
Very likely. Ductless mini-split systems deliver heating and cooling without any ducting, and they're one of the most common installations we do in older Squamish and North Shore homes.
Ductless: 1–5 days for smaller homes, 3–10 days for larger ones. Ducted: 2–6 days for smaller homes, 1–3 weeks for larger or renovation projects. You'll get your specific timeline before we start.
Your call. Some homeowners keep a gas furnace as a backup heat source; many go fully electric. Either way, if equipment is coming out, safe removal and disposal are part of the job.
Yes. We're a CleanBC registered contractor, and walking you through current programs and eligibility is part of the consult.
